I still don’t consider the people in these movies “zombies”, but like the lab worker said in the first part of the original movie, is that they’re infected with “rage”, and they also never do anything “zombie”-related. I do still really enjoy them, though.

So... many people would like to think that they would be a "hero" in any situation. The truth is - nope - most of those people would run away. Yep - this is one of the best sequels to a movie, though I like the og. one better. Fun fact - despite what KAT told us - Jeremy Renner is not dead. I mean - the character he played in this movie died but he himself is still very much alive! XD Well... back to to my usual list: "Evil Dead 2"; "Dead Heat" from 1988; "Shocker" 1989 from Wes Craven; "Flatliners" 1990, "Sleepy Hollow" from 1999, "Twilight Zone: The Movie with Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" 1983. "Basket Case" 1982. and "Child's Play" from 1988 and "Critters" from 1986. "Leviathan" from 1989. PRETTY PLEASE! :)

this show is a masterpiece in writing, filming, scoring, acting, EVERYTHING. i love watching people discover this show, even if it is heartbreaking. and for a show that is so emotional and intellectual it also has one of the best jump scares of ALL time.

O was disappointed that Don bolted leaving his wife behind. Where he became a POS in my eyes was when he lied to his children about seeing her getting bitten and seeing he killed. Panicking in terror while surrounded by wild killers is understandable. Lying about it to children who love you and deserve the truth isn't.

I like the premise of this movie but it irritates me to watch it because so many people have to be unbearably stupid and do things no normal person would do in order for the plot to happen. I also get very tired of the "military is the real enemy" trope in so many zombie movies. That's just not how it functions. There are too many checks and balances to go through for an order like that to be legitimate, even in the heat of battle.

Idc what anyone says Don did nothing wrong. He told her not to let the kid in. He single handely fought off the infected charging in. Begged his wife to leave the kid. Its a horrible n extremely hard decision but they have kids of their own. By letting him in and her going to him she sealed everyones fate. They broke in and were inbetween them. Hed have died and the kids wouldve had noone. Well tht was also made true because of the lack of security of a re-infected person. Everyones so quick to villainize Don but in truth almost everyone would flee, esp if they had kids of their own to get back to.

Amazing show!!! This is such a complex story of grief, trauma, with nuanced characters and brilliant writing. Glad you’re watching!

In the book, the hotel was the villain, and the father was one if it's victims. Shining was inspired by the John Lennon song Instant Karma.

Ehhhhh. The wife kind of deserved it, her decision to not run, she had a chance and didn't go for it. I would recommend checking out Roanoke Gaming, he has a video on what the virus is and talks about it's affect etc on the human body. He also watched horror movies but is more about the science of diseases and such. It's all interesting to learn about.

I just saw Imogen Poots in "Green Room" and didn't realize she was from this film.

I think the dad was right in the beginning when he abandons his wife. She made dumb choices and if he tried to help her he would die, and they still have 2 kids out there. She was really to blame for all of this. But I get it, he's a man afterall. He can't experience nuanced emotions or anything.

In black and white movies a lot of the time they would use chocolate syrup for blood

Rose Byrne was my absolute biggest cinematic crush ever back around this time. I first noticed her in the trailer for Sunshine, a film I was aching to see, but Fox kept pushing back, eventually giving it a ridiculously small release. In the nine months it took them to finally dump it into theaters, I watched every RB movie I could, starting with Wicker Park and Marie Antoinette. I even tracked down her Aussie work, like The Rage in Placid Lake. That same year, I saw 28 Weeks Later in the theater and to this day feel it’s far better than the first. Eventually got to see Sunshine, but had to drive an hour to see it theatrically. To say it was worth it and then some would be an understatement. You should definitely check it out. A masterpiece. Fun fact: it’s the film that convinced me to go Blu-ray. Probably the most beautiful visuals I've seen in a movie. Also, the dad in this is played by Robert Carlyle, who is fantastic in the underrated 1999 gem, Ravenous. Another one to watch. Fun fact number 2: it’s the first DVD I ever got after getting my first player for Christmas.

BTW, that awesome helicopter scene would have caused the chopper to crash

This is one of those movies where the sequel is better than the original, but the original is really good. It's hard for a franchise to do that, but this one does it so well. The actors they picked for the children, especially Imogen Poots as the daughter, are excellent. And the Dad is amazing. I love him in everything he's been in. And of course the really famous people also aren't bad. Species is a good horror movie. Scared the crap out of me a couple of times and I don't scare easy.

This was actually a remake of a 1958 movie of the same name. That one was not as gory but had some cool moments and a great ending

Yup, this movie relies so heavily on "stupid" for the plot to happen... The cowardice of him leaving his wife to die was an awful but compelling start but as soon as the kids arrived/left the compound, I really checked out of enjoying this movie. Compound this with the concept that the virus is isolated to England but then you get a non-volatile "passing" infected ie. a way for the virus to spread to the rest of the world? She should have been under the highest security but instead hubby just waltzes in and etc...

@KatWatchesHorrorMovies I was staying the night one night at a friend's house his was like a big brother figure, and we had just watched this on DVD and they all went to bed and I was the one who had to sleep in the living room, and this was before all the technology where you could turn tvs on with your phone or otherwise , and was laying there and the TV turned statically like these TVs do in this movie, and found the remote turned it off but it scared me for awhile

I have to say: I love this girl, and her enthusiam for killing bugs. Much respect ;)
